RCTX Welcomes Dr. Christa Soekamto To Our Practice
Retina Consultants of Texas is proud to welcome Dr. Christa Soekamto, MD to our practices in the Greater San Antonio area! Dr. Soekamato is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in retina surgery. She will be caring for patients at our Schertz, Huebner, Stone Oak, and Westover Hills locations.
Dr. Soekamto grew up in Grapevine, TX. She attended Southeast Missouri State University where she competed in collegiate NCAA Division I gymnastics and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then attended Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. Her internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency were completed at the University of Missouri – Kansas City where she served as chief resident. Her two-year surgical retina fellowship was completed at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. She enjoyed working with the San Antonio community so much she decided to stay and practice locally. She is an adjunct professor at UT Health San Antonio and teaches ophthalmology residents and fellows about retinal diseases.
In her personal time, Dr. Soekamto enjoys exercising, water activities like kayaking and snorkeling, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a foodie and likes to travel. She is fluent in English and speaks some Spanish.
