Dr. Christa D. Soekamto grew up in Grapevine, Texas. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in retina surgery.

Education and Training
She attended Southeast Missouri State University where she competed in collegiate NCAA Division I gymnastics and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then attended Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. Her internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency were completed at University of Missouri – Kansas City where she served as chief resident. Her two-year surgical retina fellowship was completed at University of Texas Health San Antonio. She enjoyed working with the San Antonio community so much she decided to stay and practice locally. She is an adjunct professor at UT Health San Antonio and teaches ophthalmology residents and fellows about retinal diseases.Skills and Specialties
Dr. Soekamto is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina, including retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and intrascleral fixation of intraocular lenses.Societies and Memberships
